This student has not yet mastered speaking, listening, reading or writing in English.  Student cannot speak or understand English, and might understand only a few words or phrases in English.

20-DAY COURSE

This student can speak and write some English. Student can
understand some English, but needs help listening to and responding
to instructions. Student needs extra help spelling all pertinent
information.

10-DAY COURSE

This student can read English with understanding and can speak
English so others can understand. Student can draw conclusions from
text. He or she understands many words and can make inferences
from information on ideas.
